Manager, Capital and Asset Liability Management (CALM)
Assist the Head, Strategic Finance (“HSF”) in delivering strategic insights to support BPMB Group’s (“the Group”) capital and asset liability management objectives. Manage and enhance performance tracking reports by business units under the Funds Transfer Pricing framework to monitor strategic and financial goals, guiding business decisions. Key responsibilities include managing business unit reporting and budgeting processes, engaging with stakeholders (e.g., Group Coverage, Group Corporate Banking & Advisory, Group Treasury & Investments) to facilitate informed decision-making.
Job Description
- Develop and refine financial forecasts for business units by analyzing historical data, market conditions, and assumptions.
- Support the Group’s annual budgeting process by preparing timely budgets for business units.
- Prepare and analyze management and financial reports to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Propose initiatives to optimize funding, liquidity, and balance sheet risk-reward, supporting capital and asset liability management.
- Monitor financial metrics such as net interest margin, funding & capital allocation, and compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., RWCR, LCR, NSFR, EVE/EAR).
- Execute long-term fundraising activities, including sukuk programmes, due diligence, issuance, or redemption.
- Assist in merger synergy identification and tracking during integration.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in reporting and operational efficiency.
- Provide data-driven insights for financial strategy and decision-making.
- Ensure CALM policies and procedures comply with internal and external requirements (e.g., BNM).
- Implement digital tools and dashboards to enhance financial tracking and reporting.
- Perform ad hoc activities as assigned by the Head of Strategic Finance or CFO.
- Mentor and guide junior team members.
- Drive process improvements and strategic initiatives for financial operations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Banking, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
- Professional qualification in Finance/Accountancy (e.g., ACCA, CPA, FRM, CFA, AICB, actuarial qualifications) is an advantage.
- At least 4-5 years of relevant experience in banking, finance, asset liability management, or funds transfer pricing.
- Strong knowledge of BNM policy documents, BASEL standards (I, II, III), Financial Institution Act 2002, capital management, and funds transfer pricing.
- Familiarity with Finance One, Quantum TMS, FIS, and programming skills (VBA, Power Query, SQL, Python) is a plus.
- Research, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Teamwork, people management, project, and time management skills.
- Good communication skills, proficiency in MS Office, with additional programming knowledge as an advantage.
