We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a seasoned professional to join our Strategic Marketing Division.

About the Role

Responsible for coordinating all aspects of Velesto Drilling Academy’s (VDA) business growth and technical development—from identifying new business opportunities to strengthening client relationships and ensuring technical excellence in the academy’s offerings. This role requires a deep understanding of drilling operations and overall upstream process, strong business acumen, and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic goals.

Responsibilities

Business Development:

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to expand VDA’s client base and revenue streams.
  • Identify market trends, opportunities, and potential clients in the oil and gas industry.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including major oil and gas companies, industry associations, and regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and negotiations to secure contracts and partnerships.
  • Monitor competitive landscape and adjust strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

Technical Program Development:

  • Collaborate with technical experts to design and enhance training programs that meet industry standards and client needs.
  • Ensure all training materials are up-to-date, accurate, and aligned with the latest technological and operational advancements in drilling.
  • Oversee the implementation of advanced training technologies, such as simulators, virtual reality, and e-learning platforms.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to clients, providing insights and recommendations on training and operational improvements.

Client Engagement and Relationship Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are understood and met effectively.
  • Conduct regular client feedback sessions to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop customized solutions to address unique client challenges and operational goals.

Team Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Work closely with the Head of VDA and other team members to align business development and technical strategies with the academy’s objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to instructors and technical staff to ensure high-quality program delivery.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages continuous improvement.

Financial and Performance Monitoring:

  • Develop and manage budgets for business development and technical initiatives.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue growth, client acquisition, and program success.
  • Provide regular updates to the Head of VDA on business development progress and technical advancements.
  • Work closely with Operation team to track and monitor all AR invoices, and follow up in timely manner with client for any pending.

Compliance and Best Practices:

  • Ensure all business development activities comply with industry regulations, organizational policies, and best practices.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure the Academy remains competitive and compliant.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications in drilling operations, training, or business development would be advantageous.

Required Skills

  • Possesses strong business development skills, including market analysis, client engagement, and contract negotiation.
  • Possesses deep technical knowledge of drilling operations, equipment, and industry standards.
  • Ability to communicate excellently with interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and develop actionable plans with strategic thinking.
  • Proficient in project management and the use of digital tools for program delivery and client management.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years or more experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on drilling and/or overall upstream operations, technical training, or business development
  • Experience in designing and implementing technical training programs is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of securing business deals and managing client relationships.
