Job Responsibilities
The incumbent serves as Manager, Business Development with the responsibilities to create, drive and ensure implementation of business plans through strategic and effective business designs aligned with the current market needs in stipulated time.
- To define and develop business strategies based on current market needs for logistics industry and ensure business plans are being implemented at stipulated time;
- To engage with Corporate Planning team to plan for strategic and effective business plans according to the KTMB’s vision;
- To prepare blueprints for rail cargo services aligned with the vision from KTMB;
- To prepare market analysis report for logistics market including pricing competitiveness and other related statistical reports;
- To undertake market research and assessing marketing opportunities related to rail cargo services;
- To engage with Marketing team in order to identify potential customers for rail cargo services through promotion, advertising activities, and any customers’ engagement programs;
- To engage with internal department i.e. Operation team for operational matters and Finance team for accounting matters; and
- To carry out other work instructed by the Head, Cargo Services as and when required from time to time.
Candidates Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Project Management, Marketing or Finance is preferable. Any relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher including Statistics and Economics also can be considered;
- For internal candidates, must be permanent and confirmed staff with 3 years of experience in grade G06;
- Excellent communication skills in English and Malay. Additionally, Thai language will be an added advantage;
- Excellent writing skills and using Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word, Excel) and online platforms (Zooms, Teams and etc.);
- Able to travel and work independently with minimum supervision;
- Possess strong qualitative and quantitative analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Possess strong influencing and interpersonal skills, able to lead and motivate internal cross-functional teams including Marketing, Operation, Finance and other teams in the company; and
- Able to manage time to handle multiple customers with tight deadlines.
