Job description

POSITION: Manager, Advanced Engineering | Jabatan Mata Wang (JMW)

ROLE PURPOSE

Responsible to lead, drive and formulate engineering and automation operations of JMW in strict adherence to production planning, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies to ensure optimum availability of engineering and automation infrastructure to meet operational and strategic objectives.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

(a) Engineering & Maintenance Management

Lead the development, formulation, planning and implementations of JMW’s engineering and maintenance related strategy/policy in the short and medium term and communicate issues appropriately. Manage engineering response to day-to-dayproduction requirements and priority areas and ensure JMW’s day-to-day engineering and maintenance needs are supported adequately and professionally to ensure JMW achieve its deliverables. Ensure effective and efficient maintenance management framework covering all MHEs such as automated guided vehicle (AGV), conveyor, robotic arm, automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS), banknotes processing, coins minting, etc. ensuring compliance to Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) requirement and regulation at all times.

(b) Resource Management

Lead and managed resources required in term of manpower and material to ensure high availability to achieve operational productivity target output including managing of BCP activities to ensure seamless and continuity of JMW automations operation.

(c) Equipment Performance Analysis

Lead and ensure continuous performance analysis of equipment’s and system to ensure efficiency and reliability. Identify downtime patterns and anomalies and propose resolution to minimize disruption to overall operation.

(d) Vendor and Contract Management

Lead the assessment, validation and oversee the service performance of both contractual and non-contractual vendors, focusing on work quality, reliability, and service levels to ensure compliance with service and agreement requirements. Oversee regular evaluations of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for contractual vendors, ensure necessary corrective actions implemented in accordance with the agreements.

(e) Process Optimizations

Lead, propose and manage continues process improvement and implementation of projects on JMW engineering & automation operations to ensure optimum JMW operation performance. Address obsolescence with recommended technology to ensure overall performance, reliability, and security of the JMW automation systems, equipment’s and machineries are in accordance with relevant ITOT policies.

(f) Capacity Building

Formulate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design, review, recommend and implement training programs for self and staff to promote continuous improvement, keep abreast with latest technology and career progression to ensure department deliverables are met.

(g) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP)

Lead to formulate, direct and manage the development and maintenance of SOPs and BCPs on all engineering, maintenance and automation-related activities (i.e. installation, service maintenance, repair, etc.) to ensure optimum productivity, high output quality and safe working conditions to ensure operational continuity.

(h) Annual Operating Plan

Lead the budget preparation and submission to ensure the availability of funds for planned activities are not interrupted. Manage, monitor and overseas the procurement of operational items and validate documentation necessary for payment of delivered goods and services to ensure adhere to the establish policy and governance.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/ Mechatronics/ Electrical/ Software Engineering or related field.

Working Experience: Minimum 6 years working experience with exposure in automation, machinery industry or control system related fields.
