KPMG’s Accounting Advisory Services (AAS) practice is positioned to assist clients from all sectors in accounting-related advisory, aiming to provide expert accounting guidance and support to clients during accounting conversions, implementations, and adoptions. The role involves working closely with clients to understand their unique accounting needs and providing strategic recommendations to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  1. Involve in accounting advisory related projects across accounting, system, and process and lead projects along with other solutions of AAS, including:
  2. Oversee bookkeeping and month-end close activities;
  3. Accounting-related system implementation of accounting related solution;
  4. Support in accounts backlog and reconciliation;
  5. Design and development of accounting manual, reporting pack or consolidation template;
  6. Implementation of new financial reporting standards, inclusive of both IFRS Accounting and IFRS Sustainability standards;
  7. Conversion of accounting framework to MFRS or MPERS;
  8. Secondment of staff to client's office to fill up their temporary accounting resource shortages.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field;
  2. Qualified Chartered Accountant/ACCA/CPA and/or member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA);
  3. Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting functions or auditing;
  4. Possess knowledge of financial reporting standards and be up to date with developments on regulatory and accounting matters;
  5. Strong analytical and management skills;
  6. Excellent command of English;
  7. Well organized and reliable with a strong sense of integrity and accountability;
  8. Familiarity with financial accounting system and module functionality is a plus point.
