  3. Drive root cause analysis of systematic and random defect issues impacting yield.
  4. Partner with Process Integration, Manufacturing, and Process Engineering teams to implement defect reduction solutions.
  5. Lead defect characterization using inline tools, offline review, and advanced analytics.
  6. Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reports for defect trends and yield impact.
  7. Support NPI (New Product Introduction), technology transfers, and process qualifications from a defect perspective.
  8. Interface with equipment vendors to improve tool capability, detection sensitivity, and uptime.
  9. Own documentation, procedures, and compliance with quality and safety standards.

Required Qualifications:

  1. BS/MS/PhD in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.
  2. 8+ years of experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
  3. Proven expertise in defect inspection tools (e.g., KLA, Hitachi, Applied Materials).
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with data systems like KLARF, Pareto, JMP, Python is a plus.
  5. Excellent communication skills and experience working in a cross-functional environment.
  6. Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., SPC, DOE, 8D).

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with sub-10nm process nodes or advanced packaging.
  2. Knowledge of machine learning applications in defect pattern recognition.
  3. Prior involvement in fab startup, ramp, or transfer projects.
