A leading data centre company is seeking engineering graduates for a hands-on training program focused on data centre operations. The role consists of multiple training phases, including operational training, shadowing experienced staff, and maintenance tasks. Ideal candidates should have a degree in a relevant field and a keen interest in the infrastructure of data centers, as well as the flexibility to work rotational shifts.
1. Phase 1 – Operations Foundation Training
• Learn the overall structure and workflow of critical operations in a data centre environment
• Get familiar with key infrastructure systems such as UPS, generators, cooling units, and electrical distribution systems
• Understand safety protocols, work procedures, and site access controls related to engineering tasks
• Assist in documenting daily operational processes and basic checklists
2. Phase 2 – Operations Immersion (Shadowing Phase)
• Join 24/7 rotating shift teams to gain first-hand experience in live data centre operations.
• Support routine inspections of critical infrastructure and environmental conditions.
• Monitor alarms and alerts via BMS (Building Management System) or DCIM platforms under supervision.
• Assist with initial fault response and proper incident escalation to senior engineers.
• Participate in emergency response simulations, SOP reviews, and shift handovers.
3. Phase 3 – Maintenance Immersion (Shadowing Phase)
• Assist in the execution of scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Learn the maintenance cycles and procedures for electrical and mechanical systems (e.g., UPS, switchgear, generators, HVAC systems)
• Support vendor coordination during on-site works, observing maintenance practices and safety compliance.
• Help prepare and review technical documents such as MOPs, EOPs, SOPs, and maintenance checklists. • Contribute to data collection and reporting on equipment performance and incident history.
• Assist in managing spare parts inventory and maintenance records.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related engineering fields (Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply)
• Strong interest in data centre operations, facilities engineering, or critical systems infrastructure
• Willing to work in rotational shifts, including night and weekend duties during the training period
• Good command of English (spoken and written); able to understand technical documentation
• Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Eager to learn hands-on work involving electrical and mechanical systems such as UPS, HVAC, generators, etc.
• Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
