Management Accountant

Department: Finance

Reporting To: Chief Finance Officer

Description

The Management Accountant is a critical role that provides financial insights and analysis to support our business in making informed decisions to help achieve its financial goals. This financial guidance helps to improve on decision-marking, enhances operational efficiency and drives company profitability.

On a typical day, it looks like this:

  • Analysing daily transactions, ensuring they align with the budget and checking for discrepancies or errors
  • Creating financial reports, such as profit and loss statements or cash flow forecasts, for senior management and leaders
  • Liaising with key stakeholders, along with colleagues and senior managers in the Finance team to gather data, understand operational needs, and provide financial insights to support decision making
  • Review cost structures, identifying areas to reduce expenses and ensuring departmental spending is within budget
  • Updating financial forecasts based on current business performance and helping with the preparation of future budgets
  • Investigating variances between actual and expected financial performance and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Manage end to end finance and accounting activities - bank reconciliation, journal entry, AP, AR, GL, employee claims, fixed asset, expenses, liabilities and revenue
  • Financial reporting and analysis
  • Prepare and submit monthly financial statement and ensure compliance with local statutory requirements
  • Prepare variance analysis and financial insights report and submit to UK Finance
  • Participate and oversee in financial audits and annual budgeting process
  • Review transfer pricing agreements
  • Manage inter-company collection and payments
  • Handling corporate tax computation for CP204
  • Manage payroll and statutory payment for clients (MPS-half and EMS)
  • Updating company information for company sectary related to company finance
  • Update company information changes to bank and statutory bodies (Kastam, LHDN)
  • Participate in integration process
  • Checking of salary report and verifying bank file before requesting for approval (Alliance Bank and HSBC)
  • Checking of EPF, Income Tax, SOSCO, EIS, HRDC, ZAKAT payment report and verifying the bank file before requesting for approval
  • Work with external partners such as auditors, bank, tax consultant and company secretary to ensure regulatory compliance

To be truly effective you will...
  • ACCA qualified accountant with demonstrable experience with Management Accounts
  • Have experience working in complex financial environments with a multinational, multicurrency business
  • Be highly focused and accurate with an uncompromising eye for detail
  • Have a track record of delivering accurate work to deadlines in a fast-paced organisation, with excellent prioritisation and task management skills.
  • Be able to communicate well with internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to influence and guide towards agreed outcomes.
  • Have a high attention to detail, able to identify trends in data and analyse the impact with an eye on service improvements.
  • Have high integrity, a role model for doing the right thing and commitment to high performance.
  • Experience of NetSuite would be advantageous but full training will be provided
