Description
The Management Accountant is a critical role that provides financial insights and analysis to support our business in making informed decisions to help achieve its financial goals. This financial guidance helps to improve decision-making, enhances operational efficiency, and drives company profitability.
On a typical day, it looks like this:
- Analyzing daily transactions, ensuring they align with the budget and checking for discrepancies or errors
- Creating financial reports, such as profit and loss statements or cash flow forecasts, for senior management and leaders
- Liaising with key stakeholders, along with colleagues and senior managers in the Finance team, to gather data, understand operational needs, and provide financial insights to support decision-making
- Reviewing cost structures, identifying areas to reduce expenses, and ensuring departmental spending is within budget
- Updating financial forecasts based on current business performance and assisting in the preparation of future budgets
- Investigating variances between actual and expected financial performance and providing recommendations for corrective actions
- Managing end-to-end finance and accounting activities - bank reconciliation, journal entries, AP, AR, GL, employee claims, fixed assets, expenses, liabilities, and revenue
- Financial reporting and analysis
- Preparing and submitting monthly financial statements and ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements
- Preparing variance analysis and financial insights reports and submitting them to UK Finance
- Participating in and overseeing financial audits and the annual budgeting process
- Reviewing transfer pricing agreements
- Managing inter-company collections and payments
- Handling corporate tax computations for CP204
- Managing payroll and statutory payments for clients (MPS-half and EMS)
- Updating company information for the company secretary related to company finance
- Updating company information changes with banks and statutory bodies (Kastam, LHDN)
- Participating in integration processes
- Checking salary reports and verifying bank files before requesting approval (Alliance Bank and HSBC)
- Checking EPF, Income Tax, SOSCO, EIS, HRDC, ZAKAT payment reports and verifying bank files before approval
- Collaborating with external partners such as auditors, banks, tax consultants, and company secretaries to ensure regulatory compliance
To be truly effective you will...
- Be an ACCA-qualified accountant with demonstrable experience in Management Accounts
- Have experience working in complex financial environments within a multinational, multicurrency business
- Be highly focused and accurate, with an eye for detail
- Have a proven track record of delivering accurate work within deadlines in a fast-paced organization, with excellent prioritization and task management skills
- Be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, influencing and guiding towards outcomes
- Possess high attention to detail, able to identify trends in data and analyze impacts for service improvements
- Demonstrate high integrity, serving as a role model for doing the right thing, with a commitment to high performance
- Experience with NetSuite is advantageous but full training will be provided
