Responsibilities

  • Oversee payroll and support team training and performance.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and respond to senior leadership reporting needs.

Overview

Management Accountant

We are currently looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our client on a 6 month placement, reporting directly to the Head of Finance. This role is central to preparing and delivering accurate monthly management accounts, supporting the finance team with line management responsibilities, partnering with key stakeholders to provide financial insights, and helping maintain operational efficiency while supporting business growth.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, financial statements, variance analysis, and KPI reporting. Support budgeting, forecasting, and year-end processes.

  • Ensure legal and financial compliance, conduct audits, VAT submissions, and manage balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, and cashflow.

  • Drive finance process improvements, support ISO accreditation, and contribute to business continuity and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Oversee payroll, support team training, development, and performance, including regular 1:1s and mentoring. Deputise for senior finance roles as required.

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, respond to senior leadership reporting needs, and carry out additional tasks as necessary.

Qualifications
  • Professional qualifications from a recognised accountancy body such as CIMA, ACCA, or AAT, or significant finance experience.

  • Strong experience with accounting software (specifically Xero) and advanced knowledge of Excel and data manipulation.

  • Proven ability to manage a team and collaborate across departments.

  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

  • Initiative and the ability to work unsupervised.

  • A flexible working approach.
