Job summary

Sime Darby Property in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support safe, reliable operation of KL East Mall. You will inspect, operate and maintain building services, and respond to breakdowns and tenant requests.

The role requires a Certificate or Diploma in Building Services with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Experience in malls or large facilities is advantageous, and candidates should be willing to work shifts and join emergency call-outs.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related technical field.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in facilities or building maintenance.
• Experience in a shopping mall, commercial building, hotel or large facility will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate and maintain building services, including electrical systems, ACMV, plumbing, fire protection and other facilities.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to approved schedules and procedures.
• Troubleshoot faults and attend to breakdowns, water leaks and tenant technical complaints.
• Monitor equipment performance and report defects, recurring issues and required repairs to the supervisor.
• Coordinate and supervise maintenance contractors, ensuring work meets safety, quality and operational requirements.
• Support tenant fit-out works, mall events, inspections and planned shutdowns.
• Respond to facilities emergencies and assist with restoring services safely.
• Maintain inspection records, maintenance checklists, equipment readings, logbooks and work reports.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce energy and water consumption.
• Perform electrical or Chargeman duties only within the scope of the competency certification held and the authorization given.
• Carry out other facilities-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
