Job summary

TERABITCOM COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY SDN. BHD. is seeking a Maintenance Technician / QA Technician in Penang Island, Malaysia.

The role focuses on maintaining electrical/electronic infrastructure and ensuring high QA standards for telecom equipment. This full-time position requires technical expertise and a proactive approach to reliability and quality. You will perform routine maintenance, conduct QA testing, troubleshoot faults, calibrate instruments, and document results.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification in electrical/electronics/telecommunications (diploma or equivalent).
• Experience as maintenance or QA technician in telecom/electronics sector.
• Strong understanding of electrical/electronic systems and testing methods.
• Ability to use diagnostic and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections and testing of electrical and electronic equipment and communication systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Conduct quality assurance testing and diagnostics on communication technology products and components using appropriate testing equipment and protocols.
• Identify, document and troubleshoot equipment faults and malfunctions, implementing corrective actions and preventative maintenance measures.
• Calibrate and maintain testing instruments and diagnostic equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Prepare detailed maintenance and quality assurance reports, documenting all work carried out, test results and any issues identified.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve technical issues and implement improvements to maintenance and quality processes.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies and standard operating procedures during all maintenance and testing activities.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, equipment history and quality assurance test data.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician / QA Technician to join TERABITCOM COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY SDN. BHD. in Penang Island, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance and quality of our communication technology systems and equipment. As a Maintenance Technician / QA Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining our electrical and electronic infrastructure whilst upholding the highest standards of quality assurance. This role is essential to our operations, directly impacting our ability to deliver dependable communication solutions to our clients.

Key responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, inspections and testing of electrical and electronic equipment and communication systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability

Conduct quality assurance testing and diagnostics on communication technology products and components using appropriate testing equipment and protocols

What we're looking for

Formal qualification in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, telecommunications or a related field (diploma or equivalent)

Proven experience working as a maintenance technician or quality assurance technician in the telecommunications, electronics or related engineering sector

Strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems, communication equipment and testing methodologies

Proficiency in using diagnostic and testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analysers and other specialised tools

Knowledge of quality assurance standards, testing protocols and industry compliance requirements

Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced technical environment

Good communication skills and the ability to document technical information clearly and accurately

Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to electrical and electronic equipment

Experience with communication technology systems, network infrastructure or similar electronic systems is highly desirable
