Job summary

Jotun Paints (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is recruiting a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to support the safe, reliable operation of HVAC, pumps, compressors and other building services at the Glenmarie facility in Selangor.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections and basic repairs, coordinate with external vendors, supervise contractors, and contribute to continuous improvement in facility operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in facility maintenance or related facilities.
• Experience with HVAC, chillers and building mechanical systems preferred.
• Experience with fire protection systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, pumps, and building services.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Coordinate with external vendors and supervise maintenance contractors.
• Support facility commissioning, operations readiness and continuous improvement.
• Update maintenance records and input data in the Matrix Maintenance System.

Job description

Jotun South East Asia & Pacific (SEAP) Regional Office is looking for Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) who is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all mechanical systems and equipment within the SEAP R&D and Regional Office facility. The role includes carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance, routine inspections, troubleshooting, basic repairs, and coordination with external service vendors for mechanical systems such as HVAC, pumps, air compressors, plumbing, ventilation, and other associated building services.

This position will be reporting to the Facility Manager and will be based in Glenmarie, Selangor.

Job Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, pumps, dust collection systems, mechanical utilities, and building services.

Monitor, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and environmental control equipment to ensure reliable operation.

Support laboratory and R&D equipment installation, commissioning, relocation, and utility connections.

Operate and maintain dust extraction and dust collection systems to support laboratory and pilot plant operations.

Execute preventive maintenance schedules, maintain maintenance records, and conduct routine equipment inspections.

Supervise maintenance contractors and ensure compliance with safety, HSEQ, and Permit-to-Work requirements.

Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, facility incidents, and maintenance requests.

Identify and rectify equipment abnormalities including leaks, wear, corrosion, vibration, and dust-control deficiencies.

Support facility commissioning, operational readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Support the operation and quality of Jotun’s property and production equipment.

Actively participate in root cause analysis of reoccurring and critical breakdowns and failures.

Give inputs for data updates in the Matrix Maintenance System, focusing on PM actions, Standard Jobs, and spare part lists.

Job Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in facility maintenance, manufacturing, R&D facilities, commercial buildings, laboratories, or industrial plants.

Experience with HVAC, Chillers and building mechanical systems is preferred.

Experience with Fire Protection Systems is a plus.

Experience supporting laboratories, pilot plants, or technical facilities is an advantage.
