Perform all-around maintenance and repair services in several crafts such as electrical, carpentry, welding, plumbing, sheet metal, painting, and mill-wrighting at a moderately complex level. Apply journey level skills in a primary craft gained from practical experience. Possess an in-depth understanding of maintenance history of the building, equipment, and other facilities to be maintained. Use expertise for diagnosis and emergency repairs, provide preventive and cost-efficient repairs, use all shop machinery and hand tools, act as leader for less-skilled assistants, consult with engineers and vendors.
Job Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Carry out simple maintenance and repair tasks, following detailed instructions and working under close supervision to complete the allocated tasks.
- Operating Machine or Equipment: Operate various equipment and machines, adjusting one or more variables to achieve efficiency.
- Solutions Analysis: Assess compliance with established standards and protocols for parts of routine enquiries.
- Quality: Perform relatively simple quality sampling and inspection of products or processes (or both).
- Health, Safety and Environment: Follow a range of mandatory work instructions (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.
- Operations Management: Carry out operational tasks by following established processes. May involve adjusting basic settings or parameters in order to meet performance standards.
- Work Scheduling and Allocation: Organize own work schedule each day in line with changing priorities.
- Operational Compliance: Follow a range of mandatory procedures to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct.
- Personal Capability Building: Develop and maintain excellent procedural or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
