Ansell is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to be based in Melaka.

This position is responsible for engineering downtime and machine efficiency. The role requires overtime if necessary to cover urgent work that requires quick attention. You will be expected to carry out all engineering and engineering-related work assigned by the Manager diligently and responsibly. You should be proactive and analyze machine problems to determine root causes with a view to reduce future recurrence of the same problem. Additionally, you will carry out periodical maintenance on machines as per the manager’s instruction.

What your role will be in detail?

You will be:

  • Carrying out allocated tasks and duties, particularly general building services maintenance.
  • Undertaking full servicing of boilers over the shutdown period.
  • Ensuring smooth supply of plant utilities such as chilled water, compressed air, and water.
  • Responsible for the proper maintenance of the HOT water boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, air compressors, and other equipment requiring DOSH inspection.
  • Providing 1st line maintenance of fixtures and fittings, including tightening window hinges, maintaining door handles, replacing door frames, and lock changing.
  • Being fully conversant and competent in the use of power tools to undertake fitting, plumbing, and joinery tasks as required.
  • Unblocking sinks, taps, toilets, and waste pipes, and adjusting and re-washing taps.
  • Undertaking regular roofing inspections and reporting any defects to the Facilities Supervisor.
  • Performing scheduled maintenance servicing on all building systems and fixtures as allocated by the Facilities Supervisor.
  • Being conversant with Health & Safety requirements and carrying out duties as required.
  • Being fully conversant with current and ongoing building Fire System infrastructure.

What you will bring?

  • AESP for Confined Space.
  • SPM/SPMV qualification or boilerman certificate with 2 years of related experience will also be considered.
  • Ability to converse, write, and read in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Able to troubleshoot machine problems with supervision.
  • Some trade skills such as welding, fabrication, plumbing, fitting, reading engineering drawings, replacing bearings, and repairing fans, pumps, and gearboxes.
  • Able to analyze problems and determine the root cause of issues.
  • Able to communicate effectively with peers or superiors.
