Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking a Maintenance Technician to lead routine and preventive maintenance across facilities and manufacturing machinery in Penang. The role involves diagnosing unique equipment problems, conducting predictive maintenance, and training junior technicians to ensure uptime and safety.

Ideal candidates will have strong mechanical aptitude, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good eyesight for quality work.
• Ability to lift and carry 25 kg frequently.
• Ability to crouch, crawl, climb ladders, and work at heights.
• Good basic math skills.
• Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and/or analyze unique problems that are new to equipment.
• Perform predictive maintenance by analyzing routine failures and determining adjustments and repairs.
• Train lower level Maintenance Techs on troubleshooting and repair techniques.
• Perform specified preventative maintenance on production equipment to prevent downtime.
• Monitor equipment operations to ensure proper usage.
• Construct and/or assemble new equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and repair as needed.
• Perform Lock Out / Tag Out requirements.
• Work from blueprints, manuals, sketches and verbal instructions.
• Help repairing hydraulic, pneumatic and electromechanical systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business conditions.
• Adhere to quality and safety systems and maintain safety standards.

Job Overview

Leads routine and preventive maintenance at facilities and on manufacturing machinery for assigned area(s) including physical building(s), process, and support equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and/or analyze unique problems that are new to equipment.

• Perform training as needed to Lower level Maintenance Techs on troubleshooting and repair techniques utilized with equipment
• Perform specified preventative maintenance on production equipment to prevent equipment downtime.

What Your Background Should Look Like
