Job description

Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all restaurant equipment (e.g., fryers, grills, chillers, HVAC, RB machines) and related kitchen machinery.

Respond promptly to breakdowns and urgent maintenance requests to minimize business disruption.

Maintain a centralized log of equipment servicing, repairs, and replacements. Manage Spice Admin desk-help.

Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with external service providers and contractors (e.g., electricians, refrigeration technicians, general repair).

Negotiate maintenance contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), and ensure cost-effective procurement.

Ensure all third-party work complies with quality, safety, and hygiene standards.

Asset Management & CapEx Planning

Maintain an updated inventory of all technical assets across outlets and central kitchen.

Contribute to annual CapEx planning related to equipment upgrades, replacements, and infrastructure improvements.

Track and analyze maintenance costs, downtime, and ROI of key assets.

Compliance & Safety

Ensure all restaurant equipment complies with local safety, fire, and environmental regulations.

Implement and enforce safety protocols during equipment handling, repair, and maintenance works.

Coordinate inspections, certifications, and repairs in line with regulatory and insurance requirements.

New Outlet Support

Collaborate with project or development teams during new store openings and refurbishments.

Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of kitchen and restaurant equipment.

Conduct handover inspections and ensure operational readiness from a maintenance perspective.

Team Management & Coordination

Lead and supervise the internal maintenance team (if applicable).

Coordinate work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor performance.

Provide troubleshooting guidance and support skill development.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or Facility Management.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Previous managerial experience is a bonus.
  • Working knowledge of electrical & mechanical systems, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Familiarity with blueprints and schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities, machines, and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
