The Maintenance Manager will provide strategic leadership and direction to the maintenance team, overseeing all maintenance operations across trucks, containers, equipment, office facilities, and warehouse internal maintenance. The role includes planning and supervising preventive and corrective maintenance activities, managing vendor relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing cost-saving initiatives. The manager will also maintain accurate maintenance records, lead emergency preparedness efforts, and drive continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership to the maintenance department.
- Guide, develop, and motivate the team to achieve operational goals and ensure a high-performance work environment.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous development within the maintenance team.
- Cost Management
- Monitor and control maintenance costs and operational expenses.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve overall budget efficiency.
- Operational Oversight
- Plan, supervise, and execute all maintenance activities, including preventive, scheduled, and emergency repairs for trucks, containers, cranes, forklifts, and other equipment. Ensure all equipment is well-maintained, compliant with safety regulations, and ready for operational use when required.
- Oversee the performance of maintenance operations, including office facilities, equipment support, internal warehouse maintenance and forwarding functions to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage relationships with existing vendor, sub-con and service providers to improve maintenance service and negotiate costs.
- Liaise with government and regulatory authorities (e.g., Customs Bonded, APAD, Puspakom) to ensure full compliance and communicate any regulatory updates to internal teams.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs, including the preparation of comprehensive monthly reports for all maintenance jobs executed.
- Prepare and present periodic reports on maintenance performance and KPIs to senior management.
- Establish and implement emergency maintenance procedures to handle unforeseen breakdowns and minimize operational disruptions.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure contingency plans are in place for critical equipment failures.
- Propose and implement improvements in maintenance processes to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance management within logistics or transportation industries.
