Maintenance Manager

About the Role

Our client, a leading manufacturer, is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Manager to lead the site’s maintenance operations. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of equipment reliability, preventive and corrective maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is key in ensuring production runs smoothly, safely, and cost-effectively while maximizing the performance and lifespan of plant assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the maintenance function by providing both proactive and reactive multi-skilled services across all machinery and equipment.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor maintenance schedules, procedures, and KPIs to optimize performance.
  • Inspect and monitor equipment regularly, ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage the maintenance budget, track expenditures, and drive cost-effective solutions.
  • Oversee spare parts inventory to ensure critical stock levels are maintained.
  • Coordinate with production and other departments to align maintenance plans with operational requirements.
  • Supervise external contractors, ensuring work is compliant with company and legal standards.
  • Manage change processes for new equipment, from specification to installation and commissioning.
  • Prepare reports and present performance updates to senior management.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying risks, conducting assessments, and implementing corrective actions.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Support procurement of equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards in partnership with quality teams.
  • Contribute to risk assessments for departmental processes and tasks.

General Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Proven track record in maintenance leadership, ideally 8–10 years in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, reliability practices, and safety compliance.
  • Experienced in managing budgets, spare parts, and vendor relationships.
  • Proficiency in maintenance planning systems (ERP/CMMS experience is a plus).
  • Excellent leadership, delegation, and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive operational excellence.
