Job summary

Air Products in Malaysia is seeking a Maintenance Planner to support North Malaysia operations. The role plans and schedules major maintenance activities, including turnarounds, to optimize resources, stay within budget, and ensure safe and efficient execution.

You will chair turnaround meetings, coordinate resources, and drive reliability programs while upholding EH&S standards and ISO documentation across the maintenance department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years working experience in similar role.
  • Knowledge of industrial gas or chemical processing plants is preferred.
  • Have experience of leading maintenance planning, shutdowns/turnarounds, reliability programs and maintenance team.

Purpose

This position supports all operating sites in North Malaysia operation. Receives, plans and schedules major maintenance activities (including predictive/preventive, corrective maintenance and modification projects) to optimize utilization of all resources and facilitate safe, smooth and cost-effective execution within budget and schedule. Support North Malaysia operation and maintenance for all turnarounds. Also, the incumbent in this position is jointly responsible to ensure that the highest safety standard is maintained during work execution.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Assist Area Operation Manager to plan and schedule turnarounds.
  • Responsible as turnaround coordinator by organizing and leading maintenance resources.
  • Chair turnaround meetings, reviews and prepares schedule, progress and post-turnaround review reports.
  • Assist Area Operation Manager for predictive/preventive maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Ensure safe and effective execution and schedule compliance including reporting.
  • Review effectiveness of predictive/preventive maintenance program (by using various tools e.g. RCM, FMEA, etc. and inspection techniques e.g. oil analyses, other NDT).
  • Maintaining a mechanical integrity program, ensure compliance with corporate MI program.
  • Assist Area Operation Manager in supporting plant reliability improvement activities.
  • Ensure action items are targeted at eliminating root causes in failures by using effective tools such as FMEA, RCM or ARCA.
  • Ensure follow-up actions are implemented promptly to closure.
  • To liaise closely for site regular preventive maintenance programs as per SAP PM02 and safe task execution methodologies.
  • To ensure that specific PPE and tools are routinely audited and inventory reported to the plant manager.
  • Ensure all maintenance information (e.g. equipment history records and fault reports) is accurately and promptly updated and maintained.
  • To actively and effectively participate in EH&S activities, best practices initiation and sharing, continuous improvements and productivity initiatives.
  • To keep abreast of the latest technological developments in operations and maintenance of gas manufacturing industry.
  • To manage and administer the change for ISO documents related to the overall maintenance program.
  • To promote an atmosphere of team spirit through good examples, open communication, good listening and timely problem resolutions.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned according to operations and business requirements from time to time.
  • To function as Food Safety Management Team Member for IG in MY.
  • Facilitate audits processes to assess the compliances of AP On site operations activities against to AP's standard or relevant applicable standards (i.e., ISO standards, AP Corporate EHS audits, customer audits).
  • Ensure ISO documentation (9001/45001/14001) related to maintenance department are updated and assist maintenance engineers / leads in raising eMOC if document change required in the system.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • 5 years working experience in similar role.
