Job summary

UOB in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Lead Workplace Infrastructure Engineer to lead and support enterprise workplace technologies, including Microsoft 365, Exchange, VMware Horizon VDI, Endpoint Management, and Unified Communications.

The role serves as the technical escalation point, driving platform stability, security, automation, and mentoring engineering teams while ensuring a seamless end-user experience.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Workplace Infrastructure.
• Proven experience as a Technical Lead, SME, or Senior Engineer.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor L2/L3 engineers and lead enterprise workplace projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead and SME for Workplace Infrastructure services.
• Mentor L2/L3 engineers and drive capacity planning and service optimization.
• Administer and support Microsoft 365 and Exchange (On-Premises, Hybrid, Online).
• Manage VMware Horizon VDI environments and user experience.
• Oversee endpoint management including compliance, patching, and security baselines.
• Provide advanced L3 support and root cause analysis for complex issues.
• Support Teams Voice, Meetings, video conferencing, and collaboration services.
• Collaborate with Network/Voice teams to resolve communication issues.
• Enforce security policies, privileged access controls, and governance standards.
• Develop PowerShell scripts and automation solutions.
• Lead major incident resolution and provide incident reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Act as the technical lead and SME for Workplace Infrastructure services.
• Mentor and provide guidance to L2/L3 engineers.
• Drive platform improvements, capacity planning, and service optimization.
• Establish best practices across M365, VDI, endpoint, and collaboration platforms.

Workplace Platform Management

• Administer and support Microsoft 365 and Exchange (On-Premises, Hybrid, and Online).
• Manage VMware Horizon VDI environments and user experience.
• Oversee endpoint management solutions, including compliance, patching, and security baselines.
• Provide advanced L3 support and perform root cause analysis for complex issues.

Unified Communications

• Support Teams Voice, Meetings, video conferencing, and collaboration services.
• Work closely with Network and Voice teams to resolve communication issues.
• Ensure reliable and seamless collaboration services.

Security & Compliance

• Support MDM, MFA, Blackberry, Trend Micro, Enterprise Vault, and related security technologies.
• Enforce security policies, privileged access controls, and governance standards.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security requirements.
• Develop PowerShell scripts and automation solutions.
• Implement proactive monitoring and operational efficiencies.

Incident & Stakeholder Management

• Lead major incident resolution activities.
• Act as the escalation point for critical workplace-related issues.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams.
• Provide reporting, recommendations, and service insights to management.

Requirements

Experience

• 8–12 years of experience in Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Workplace Infrastructure.
• Proven experience as a Technical Lead, SME, or Senior Engineer.
