Job summary

A leading construction and engineering firm in Malaysia is seeking a competent Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to assist in planning, managing, and executing projects. The role involves inspecting M&E works, ensuring compliance with standards, and liaising with various stakeholders. Ideal candidates should have a diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and experience in water treatment plants. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Min Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant disciplines.
• At least 3 years of related experience in water treatment plants is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in valve systems, pump installations, and pipe fitting encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in planning and monitoring project executions.
• Check M&E drawings for discrepancies and supervise M&E works.
• Conduct site inspections and testing of M&E work.

Responsibilities / Duties

• To assist Project Manager to competently plan, manage, coordinate and monitor closely project executions, work progress, control, tracking and accomplish tasks within the given time frame
• To check all M&E drawings for discrepancies with Architectural & Structural drawings and control of M&E drawings on-site
• To supervise M&E works and liaise with clients, consultants, architects, sub-contractors, supplier and relevant authorities to meet proposed schedule
• To ensure M&E works are performing on time and compliance with all necessary standards, code of practice and safety regulations
• Responsible to execute mechanical and electrical works in building construction and improvement works
• Review the M&E drawings against M&E and clients’ requirements
• Conduct site inspection from time to time and carry out testing and commissioning of M&E work
• To identify any issues, or deviations from project specifications and propose suitable corrective actions
• To ensure all work documentation are properly documented and filed
• Attend site meetings as and when required
• To undertake special assignments, ad-hoc functions, and related duties as and when required

Requirements

• Min Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or any relevant disciplines
• At least 3 years of related experience in water treatment plant is added advantage
• Candidates with hands-on experience in valve systems, pump installations, and pipe fitting are strongly encouraged to apply
• Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia
• Good attitude and good communication skills
