Job Overview
To assist in planning, coordinating, and executing mechanical and electrical (M&E) works for data center projects in Kedah. This role involves overseeing contractors, ensuring M&E compliance, and supporting smooth integration of critical infrastructure systems (power, cooling, fire protection, etc.).
Job Responsibilities
- Design and manage the implementation of project activities including project management and project execution, installation, maintenance for industrial HVAC, cleanroom, process utility, electrical and C&S works
- Support installation, testing, and commissioning of M&E systems such as HVAC, electrical distribution, UPS, fire suppression, and BMS systems.
- Plan and prepare budget sheet and costing of ACMV system
- Plan, execute, supervise and control all technical and other functions of projects secured
- Liaise with consultants, clients, suppliers and sub-contractors on work instruction, sequence of work and other project implementation issues
- Responsible for project tendering, budget, project cost control etc.
- Review, plan and monitor project execution schedule and ensure meeting project deliverables
- Lead a team of junior engineers and supervisors to ensure proper project execution in each project phase
- Identify M&E design concepts and develop design briefs outlining the design requirements to consultants.
- Liaise and coordination with consultant for design development for submission and approval
- Conduct regular site inspections and report non-conformances in M&E works.
- Enforce site safety protocols and ensure M&E installations follow environmental and health standards
- Review and ensure M&E layout design and specifications on the functionality, practicality, constructability and value-engineering aspects are complied
- Perform interim progress claims, monitor progress payments and determine variation orders
- Attend site/technical meetings on project progress and follow-through of outstanding matters
- Ensure timely reporting on project work progress and preparation of reports to the Management
- Maintain records of inspections, material approvals, change orders, and progress updates.
- Prepare weekly progress reports, checklists, and support documentation for handover.
- Plan and optimize resources
Job Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 8 years of relevant working experience, preferably in construction and project management
- Required skills: AutoCAD, Ms. Excel, Ms. PowerPoint
- Good team player
- Good interpersonal skills
- Able to travel within West Malaysia (Mainly within Kedah)
