Ewaz Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced lorry driver for local and regional deliveries. You will ensure on-time handovers, perform vehicle checks, and maintain compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities include loading/unloading, cargo securing, route planning with GPS, and accurate POD verification. Valid driving license and physical ability to lift repeatedly are required.
Drive rigid commercial lorries (typically 1-ton, 3-ton, 5-ton, or 10-ton vehicles) along designated local, regional, or interstate routes safely. Transport goods to parcel distribution centers, regional hubs, retail outlets, or directly to business customers, performing multi-drop deliveries within designated time windows.
Key responsibilities
Conduct mandatory pre-trip inspections (checking tires, brake fluid, lights, engine oil, wipers, and fuel levels)
Ensure the lorry is clean, roadworthy, and compliant with transport laws and safety regulations
Report any mechanical faults or damage to fleet managers immediately
Supervise or participate directly in loading and unloading goods (parcels, pallets, crates, and containers)
Use loading equipment such as pallet jacks, tail lifts, or hand trolleys
Ensure cargo is weight-balanced, organized logically by drop-off sequence, and properly secured using straps or canvas to prevent damage during transit
Plan efficient delivery routes using GPS, accounting for traffic jams, height/weight restrictions, and road closures
Adhere strictly to road safety regulations, speed limits, and mandatory driver rest hours
Verify that cargo matches the manifests, invoices, or delivery orders before handing items over
Obtain physical signatures or digital Proof of Delivery (POD) via hand-held scanners or mobile apps
About you
Valid commercial driving license (such as a GDL/Goods Driving License in Malaysia or regional HGV equivalent) matched to the lorry class
Ability to handle repetitive lifting, bending, and loading tasks throughout the shift
Ability to meet tight delivery schedules while maintaining safe driving practices
Ability to navigate unexpected traffic issues, tight loading bays, or missing documentation efficiently
