Logistics Manager

Job Overview

We are looking for a driven and strategic Logistics Manager to lead our warehouse and logistics operations. This is an exciting opportunity to optimize warehousing and distribution efficiency, enhance delivery performance, and drive cost-effective logistics solutions. The ideal candidate will oversee warehouse management, fleet operations, and process improvements while ensuring seamless coordination across departments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Warehouse Management:
   Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including goods receiving, storage, inventory management, and order fulfilment.
   Develop and implement effective warehouse processes and procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize errors.
   Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
2. Logistics and Fleet Management:
   Manage the scheduling and routing for collections and deliveries.
   Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
   Fleet management: monitor transportation costs, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance to optimize logistics operations.
3. Strategic planning, leadership and process improvement:
   Develop and implement strategic plans for the Logistics and Warehouse Department in alignment with the company's overall goals.
   Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and accuracy as well as cost optimization in the logistics and warehouse functions.
   Analyze warehouse and logistics data, such as delivery times and order accuracy, to identify trends, address issues.
   Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of warehouse and logistics strategies with sales, purchasing, and production departments.
   Build and lead a high-performing warehouse and logistics team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
   Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
   Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of warehouse and logistics operations.
   Monitor the metrics and analyse performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
   Prepare regular reports and presentations for top management, providing insights into operational performance, cost analysis, and process improvements.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and transportation logistics.
• Experience in fleet management, including cost control, routing optimization, and vehicle maintenance.
• Proven ability to develop and implement process improvements for efficiency and cost savings.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience in training and performance evaluation.
• Strong analytical skills to monitor logistics metrics and generate strategic reports.
• Proficiency in logistics management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, purchasing, and production.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
