Company Description

Bosch has been present in Malaysia since 1923, represented by Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd. In Malaysia, Bosch is active in four business sectors: Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools, and steering systems. A fourth plant with a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors is also planned. PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia, a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan, Penang. Construction began in May 2021, with the first series of production expected in 2023. This expansion addresses the growing demand for semiconductor components, supporting Bosch’s front-end production in Dresden, Germany. PgP5 will focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, and will also include R&D and training facilities.

Job Description

The main functions of the job include:

1. Planning, implementing, and managing the overall supply chain strategy.
2. Collaborating with suppliers and LSPs to optimize processes.
3. Identifying and mitigating potential disruptions in the supply chain.
4. Selecting and managing transportation providers (carriers, freight forwarders, etc.).
5. Negotiating transportation rates and contracts.
6. Optimizing shipping routes and schedules to meet lead times.
7. Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods.
8. Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations (e.g., customs, import/export laws, safety regulations).
9. Identifying opportunities to reduce logistics costs and improve efficiency.
10. Analyzing logistics data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
11. Developing and implementing cost-saving initiatives in collaboration with GS and PUR.
12. Conducting LSP performance reviews in collaboration with GS.
13. Implementing environmentally sustainable logistics practices.

Additional responsibilities include:

1. Serving as Logistics Expert on transportation and freight.
2. Providing optimal solutions as per LSP contractual lanes.
3. Acting as Plant PIC for freight-related topics.
4. Leading the logistics team to manage and control costs.
5. Collaborating with GS on LSP KPIs and performance.
6. Key contact for tendering processes (LSP).
7. Managing and monitoring LSP performance.

Project / Relocation

1. Leading transportation topics, especially air freight sourcing (air/sea/land).
2. Advising on the best logistics and transportation solutions.
3. Supporting PO issuance.
4. Acting as Plant PIC for logistics topics.

Customs / Compliance

1. Ensuring exemption lists are up-to-date.
2. Applying for new exemptions or special requests.
3. Ensuring compliance with import/export regulations and advising on best solutions.
4. Handling customs-related topics (license renewal, special applications, etc.).
5. Advising on CoO and trade compliance (FTA, etc.).

Indirect Packaging (LOD)

1. Collaborating with PUI and LOD teams in Germany on packaging improvements.
2. Enhancing packaging quality in collaboration with suppliers.

Qualifications

Masters or Degree in Logistics and Management studies.
