Under general supervision, performs a variety of distribution and/or warehouse duties that may include packing, pulling/checking customer orders, replenishment, shipping, and material handling. May assist with clerical tasks such as shipping, receiving, and inventory using a computerized system.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Perform distribution and warehouse duties, including packing, order checking, replenishment, shipping, and material handling.
  2. Utilize automated warehouse or distribution management systems.
  3. Complete Quality Deficiency Reports (QDRs), scrap tickets, and Bills of Lading for recyclable and defective materials.
  4. Enter new items into the item file, including description, weight, and storage characteristics.
  5. Report discrepancies to relevant departments.
  6. Process work in progress, finished goods, raw materials, and branch assignments into the computer system.
  7. Keypunch transaction tickets and manage load tickets.
  8. Maintain inventory and direct incoming stock to appropriate areas.
  9. Operate hand and power equipment, such as forklifts, for material handling.
  10. Receive incoming materials and prepare shipments, verifying quantities and conditions.
  11. Prepare records for shipped materials and route them appropriately.
  12. Fabricate and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and prepare parts for special shipments.
  13. Ensure delivered materials are in good condition and correctly ordered.
  14. Move, sort, and arrange materials, ensuring proper marking.
  15. Manage waste and recyclables, coordinating removal as needed.
  16. Report damaged goods, shortages, and unusual conditions to supervisors or Quality Control.
  17. Follow all food safety, health, and safety procedures and attend relevant training.
  18. Implement ISO 9000, GMP, and HACCP procedures related to logistics roles.

Skills & Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in the food or manufacturing industry.
  • Completed forklift safety training.
  • Willing to work rotating 3-shift schedules.
