Job summary

Flex in Batu Kawan, Penang seeks a Logistics Analyst to enhance product workflow by researching and developing logistics plans affecting production, distribution, and inventory. You will track shipments, prepare budget and cost analyses, coordinate with carriers, and develop models for cost estimating and demand forecasting to improve service levels while minimizing cost.

You will also maintain logistics data and SOPs, support vendor negotiations, and monitor performance metrics such as on-time

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience related to warehouse and manufacturing.
• Requires minimum 3 years of experience in logistics.
• A background in manufacturing is desired.

Enhance product workflow by researching and developing logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory. Create and review logistics procedures to maximize client satisfaction and minimize cost.

What a typical day looks like:

Responsible for ensuring productivity, efficiency, and management of various logistics operations. These operations may include, but are not limited to, tracking product shipments, contract negotiations, preparation of budget and cost analysis statements, creation of more efficient logistical planning, and coordination of shipments.

• Recommend improvements to existing or planned logistics processes.
• Research for logistics data, using methods such as data mining, data modeling, or cost or benefit research.
• Apply investigation methods or tools to comprehend, predict, or control logistics operations or processes.
• Interpret data on logistics elements, such as availability, maintainability, reliability, supply chain management, strategic sourcing or distribution, supplier management, or transportation.
• Prepare reports on logistics performance measures.
• Write or revise standard operating procedures for logistics processes.
• Confer with logistics management teams to define ways to optimize service levels, maintain supply-chain efficiency, or minimize cost.
• Maintain databases of logistics data and information in accordance with corporate policies.
• Provide ongoing researching in areas such as transportation costs, parts procurement, back orders, or delivery processes.
• Develop or maintain models for logistics uses, such as cost estimating or demand forecasting.
• Monitor industry standards, trends, or practices to identify developments in logistics planning or execution.
• Track product flow from origin to final delivery. Monitor flor of vehicles or inventory using logistics systems.
• Define packaging requirements.
• Compute reporting metrics, such as on-time delivery rates and order fulfillment rates.
• Manage systems to ensure that pricing structures adequately reflect logistics costing.
• Contact carriers for rates or schedules.
• Communicate with or monitor service providers, such as ocean carriers, air freight forwarders, global consolidators, customs brokers, or trucking companies.
• Compare locations or environmental policies of carriers or suppliers to make transportation resolutions with lower environmental impact.
• Develop or maintain freight rate databases for use by supply chain departments to define the most economical modes of transportation.
• Reorganize shipping schedules to consolidate loads, maximize vehicle usage, or limit the movement of empty vehicles or containers.
• Develop or maintain payment systems to ensure accuracy of vendor payments.
• Route or reroute drivers in real time with remote route navigation software, satellite linkup systems, or global positioning systems (GPS) to improve operational efficiencies.
• Enter carbon-output or environmental-impact data into spreadsheets or environmental management or auditing software programs.
