Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Linux / OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining Linux-based systems and OpenShift Container Platform environments. You will be working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability and performance of our infrastructure.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

System Administration

  • Administer Linux servers, ensuring their optimal performance, robust security, and maximum availability.

Automation

  • Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline system and application deployments.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting

  • Monitor system performance, perform troubleshooting and resolve issues to ensure the system’s high availability and reliability.

Security

  • Implement robust security best practices and adhere to all industry standards.

Collaboration

  • Align with development, operations, and support teams to deliver high-quality, seamless solutions.

Documentation

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation covering system configurations, operational procedures, and organisational policies.

OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)

  • Deploy, configure, and manage Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) environments to support containerised applications.

Incident Management

  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents or errors related to Linux / OCP environment.
  • Provide timely support for critical issues to minimise downtime and operational disruptions by attending all alerts.
  • Being available to respond to urgent issues or emergencies outside of regular working hours as per the on-call roster.

Change Management

  • Service delivery of change ticket requiring the Linux team for task deployment.
  • Able to work outside business hours and weekends for change ticket deployment.
  • Ensure and adhere to the change deployment process and procedure.

Service Request

  • Deliver service request tickets for BAU or projects requirements as per established SLA and OLA.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Honours) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent to the related field, and recognised by the Government from any local or abroad higher learning institution in the related field of study; with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 and above.
  • Certified in Linux (RHCSA, RHCE) and/or OpenShift is an added advantage.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins and Git is an advantage.
  • Experience in DevOps methodologies and practices is a plus.
  • Malaysian citizen.
  • Obtain a pass in Bahasa Melayu, including an oral test in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Linux system administration or OpenShift Container Platform.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Linux system administration, including Red Hat, CentOS, and Ubuntu.
  • Experience in configuring and administering OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Experience with scripting languages, specifically Bash.
  • Proficient in using automation tools like Ansible and Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and industry compliance standards.

  • Highly effective at communicating, interpersonal, and working in a team environment.
  • Skilled in independent work and prioritizing a diverse workload to meet deadlines.
