Job summary

Guocera Tile Industries in Malaysia seeks an LGV/AGV Maintenance Engineer to monitor and optimize laser-guided vehicle systems across production zones. You will perform start-up checks, respond to interruptions, and coordinate with vendors for advanced support.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechatronics/electrical/automation and 1–3 years of AGV/robotics experience, with PLC/SCADA exposure and strong troubleshooting skills. Willingness to work in shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical & Electronics, Automation, or related field.
• 1–3 years experience in automated guided vehicles (AGV/LGV), robotics, or smart logistics systems.
• Experience in PLC, sensors, laser navigation systems, or SCADA systems is an advantage.
• Familiar with troubleshooting automated systems, safety sensors, and communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure smooth operation of the LGV system across production areas.
• Perform start-up checks and readiness of LGVs before production begins.
• Respond promptly to LGV interruptions, blockages, or communication failures.
• Conduct root cause analysis for LGV breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
• Perform periodic inspection, calibration, and preventive maintenance of LGV sensors, lasers, wheels, and batteries.
• Coordinate with the vendor or automation supplier for advanced support and firmware upgrades.
• Review LGV routes and loading/unloading processes for optimization.
• Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to improve data collection, diagnostics, and reporting.
• Support software updates and configuration changes as per production needs.
• Ensure LGV operation complies with plant safety standards and floor marking requirements.
• Perform risk assessments and emergency stop validation for LGV paths.
• Train operators and technicians on LGV handling, safety procedures, and first-level maintenance.
• Maintain detailed logs of LGV performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
• Prepare monthly reports on LGV uptime, issues, and improvement actions.
• Update SOPs and technical manuals as required.

Strong understanding of automation, sensors, control logic, and electrical troubleshooting.

Familiar with laser-guided navigation, battery management, and path configuration.

Able to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation.

Good communication, teamwork, and analytical skills.

Willing to work in shifts and respond during emergencies or downtime incidents.
