Job summary

A leading company in IT services in Malaysia seeks a Legal Officer to manage legal documentation and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Law and have at least 2 years of experience in a legal role, demonstrating strong analytical and drafting skills.

Qualifications

• Admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a legal role.
• Excellent command of written and oral English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review various legal documents and contracts.
• Liaise with panel solicitors on legal matters including litigation.
• Provide compliance advice on applicable laws and regulations.

Job description

Assist in drafting, reviewing & finalisation of various company documents, business contracts, non-disclosure agreements, legal notices andcorrespondences.

Assist in corporate transactions & exercises such as preparation of documentation for corporate exercises.

Liaise with all panel solicitors of the company legal matters especially involving litigation and arbitration.

To review affidavit, letter of demand, statement of claims ,other legal notice and petition.

Assist in providing compliance advice to the company on applicable laws and regulations.

To conduct legal research and keep abreast with development or updates in the relevant laws and regulations applicable to the Company business.

To provide advisory assistance on human resource and industrial relation matters.

To maintain filing list of contracts and list of licenses/certificates.

To assist in the renewal of licenses and certifications where necessary.

Job Requirements

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in LLB, Professional Degree or equivalent.

Admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya or holding an equivalent Malaysian legal qualification.

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a legal role.

Excellent legal research, analytical, drafting, and oral communication skills.

Detail‑oriented and meticulous, with high professional ethics and confidentiality awareness; able to work under pressure and respond promptly to legal matters in a fast‑paced setting.

A team player and able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Excellent command of written and oral English and Bahasa Malaysia.
