Job summary

KuCoin Exchange is seeking a senior legal affairs professional to lead regulatory and legal tasks for cross-border operations in a dynamic crypto environment. You will develop legal opinions, manage license applications, and coordinate with regulators and overseas partners to ensure compliant operations.

The role requires a law degree with strong financial and administrative law knowledge, 3–7 years of relevant experience, and excellent cross-border communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in law with solid grasp of financial law, foreign economic law, administrative law, and commercial law fundamentals.
• 3–7 years of full-time legal experience; experience in financial/cross-border firms, blockchain exchange regulatory legal affairs, and license applications preferred.
• Familiar with local virtual asset regulatory framework and overseas procedures; capable of drafting legal opinions, regulatory responses, and license documents.
• Strong regulatory coordination, cross-border communication, and problem-solving abilities; autonomous implementation of license-related projects; no industry-related risk records.

Job description

• 1. Specialized work in regulatory and legal affairs. Focus on regulatory legal affairs of the exchange, continuously study global laws, regulations and regulatory rules related to virtual assets and financial transactions, provide formal legal opinions, legal risk assessment and compliance arguments for the company's cross-border business operations and business model iterations, and avoid policy-related and regulatory legal risks.
• 2. Legal affairs for global license application and maintenance. Lead the legal process of various overseas transaction licenses and financial qualifications applications, including legal argumentation of compliance plans, writing of complete legal materials, application for qualifications, responses to regulatory inquiries, legal responses to rectification, annual review and renewal of licenses, and legal management of license continuation, connecting with overseas law firms and regulatory agencies, and resolving legal obstacles in license applications.
• 3. Regulatory connection and handling of regulatory disputes. Responsible for connecting with regulatory authorities and handling legal affairs such as regulatory interviews, inquiries, special investigations, rectification notices, etc.; responsible for handling regulatory-related disputes and administrative legal affairs, issuing rectification legal documents, explanations, coordinating risk disposal and legal review.
• 4. Foreign-related legal affairs and risk control of regulatory compliance. Responsible for reviewing legal documents related to cross-border cooperation and overseas entity operations, controlling legal risks; establishing license legal archives and regulatory legal ledgers, updating regulatory legal response plans iteratively, internally outputting legal risk alerts to support the legal and compliant operation of business.

Job Requirements

• 1. Bachelor's degree or above in law, with a solid grasp of financial law, foreign economic law, administrative law, and commercial law fundamentals.
• 2. Have 3-7 years of full-time legal experience, and those with experience in financial, cross-border enterprises, blockchain exchange regulatory legal affairs, and license application legal affairs are preferred.
• 3. Familiar with the mainstream local virtual asset regulatory framework and license application legal affairs procedures in overseas regions, and capable of independently completing the writing of various legal documents such as legal opinions, regulatory responses, and application documents.
• 4. Possess good capabilities in regulatory coordination, foreign language communication, and problem-solving, with strong resilience and be able to independently implement the implementation of license legal affairs projects and handle various regulatory legal affairs, with no industry-related risk records.
