I’m currently representing a renowned global conglomerate in the search for a Legal Manager to join their growing Southeast Asia team. This is a key leadership role for legal professionals who are passionate about intellectual property (IP), corporate governance, and driving legal strategies in a manufacturing environment.

About the Role:

As the Legal Manager, you’ll be an essential partner to the business, delivering practical, commercially aware legal advice across the region. Your role will be diverse, dynamic, and impactful.

Key Responsibilities:

Intellectual Property (IP):

• Lead the management and protection of the company’s IP portfolio—trademarks, patents, designs, copyrights.
• Collaborate with marketing, R&D, and commercial teams to shape IP strategies and respond to infringement risks.
• Manage contentious IP issues including disputes and enforcement actions, with the support of external counsel.

Commercial Contracts & Legal Advisory:

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements (distribution, licensing, OEM, trading terms, NDAs).
• Act as a key legal partner to business teams across SEA.

Litigation & Dispute Management:

• Oversee ongoing disputes and litigation.
• Develop negotiation strategies and manage legal budgets alongside external counsel.

Governance, Compliance & Regulatory Affairs:

• Provide legal support on governance, compliance, and cross-border regulatory issues.
• Assist with internal compliance processes and corporate secretarial matters.

Internal Legal Support:

• Conduct internal legal training and develop policies to enhance legal awareness across functions.
• Drive continuous improvement in legal processes and contract management workflows.

What We’re Looking For:

️ 8+ years PQE, preferably with strong IP & commercial contracts experience

️ Background in multinational environments, particularly manufacturing or FMCG

️ Strong communicator, confident working closely with commercial teams

️ Strategic, solutions-driven, and able to balance legal risks with business goals

️ IP specialization qualifications (advantage)
