Overview

This role will focus on 3 main aspects: legal, government relations and communications for P&G Malaysia. You will be the sole country lawyer in Malaysia, using practical problem-solving skills and agility to excel in a highly dynamic business environment while supporting business operations.

Job Responsibilities

Legal:

• Advise on matters in Malaysia employment matters, including (a) general labor and employment matters; (b) compliance and internal investigations; (c) employee field and departures; and (d) employee compensation and benefits
• Draft, negotiate, commercial agreements and related commercial transactions, which involve both internal and external agreements such as distribution agreements, promotions, talent, media, IP, and agency agreements
• Advise on sales, distribution, advertising, promotion, labeling, sponsorships, pricing, competition, privacy, cybersecurity and IT Law, consumer protection, stewardship, general compliance
• Ensure legal compliance for P&G legal entities in Malaysia including ensuring accurate shareholder resolutions, Powers of Attorney, Letters of Authorization, and similar documents for maintenance of the corporate entities

Government Relations:

• Monitor legislative developments, identify emerging issues to the company, and strategic counsel to help the business
• Lead the influencing policy and legislation realities with the business goals
• Establish and maintain P&G relationships with the government, embassies, and representation in industry associations and chambers of commerce

Communications:

• Crafting and driving strategies and initiatives to promote E&I and Sustainability at P&G Malaysia, in close collaboration with the HR and Leadership Team
• Amplifying the regional and global E&I and Sustainability initiatives by tailoring them to the local context

Job Qualifications

• Law Degree from Malaysia
• Admitted to practice law and in good standing in Malaysia
• 2-4 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department (ideally FMCG company), preferably with expertise in commercial and/or corporate law, and experience in litigation

Skills

• Fluent in Bahasa and in English
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and very strong problem-solving skills
• Capacity to handle a wide variety of responsibilities and exciting priorities with accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability and initiative to set priorities and meet targets
• Track record of success in professional and personal activities
• Proven track record to work as a member of a team
• Problem-solving and analytical skills, oriented attitude is a plus especially during issues and crises
• Social skills to persuade, influence, and adapt communication style to different situations and individuals
