Job description

Role Summary:

This role is responsible for supporting the Legal Department in delivering a broad range of legal services and advice to various established business units and key stakeholders. The incumbent will provide timely, cost-effective, and practical legal assistance to ensure the company’s operations are aligned with legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  1. Provide proactive, professional, and competent legal advice and support across a variety of business and operational matters.
  2. Review, draft, and assist in the negotiation of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  3. Conduct legal research and analysis on issues relevant to the business.
  4. Monitor and stay up to date with changes in laws, regulations, and relevant legal developments that may impact the business.
  5. Liaise with and manage external legal counsels on specific assignments or litigation matters.
  6. Support in ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and legal obligations.
  7. Assist in preparing legal documentation and correspondence, including reports, memos, and presentations.
  8. Maintain legal files and ensure proper record keeping.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) with strong academic achievements.
  2. Bar qualification from a Commonwealth jurisdiction or completed Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP).
  3. Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in a top-tier law firm; in-house experience is an added advantage.
  4. Solid understanding of corporate and commercial law.
  5. Strong command of English, both written and spoken; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  6. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  7. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  8. Able to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with internal teams.
  9. Demonstrates sound judgment, strategic thinking, and a solution-oriented mindset.
  10. Professional, ethical, and able to maintain confidentiality and integrity in all legal matters.
