Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including tenancy agreements, service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and corporate contracts.
- Ensure all contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements while safeguarding the company’s interests.
- Corporate & Compliance Matters:
- Provide legal assistance in various corporate projects, including development projects, corporate transactions, joint ventures, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, external counsel, and company secretaries on corporate governance matters.
- Intellectual Property and Compliance:
- Handle licensing and intellectual property issues, including trademarks and licenses, and provide advice on protection and enforcement strategies.
- Stay up to date on relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance with all applicable legal requirements.
- Assist in managing disputes, tenant issues, and contractual claims, ensuring legal risks are mitigated.
- Liaise with external counsel on litigation matters, including landlord-tenant disputes, commercial disputes, and regulatory proceedings.
- Legal Advisory & Risk Management:
- Provide legal opinions and risk assessments to internal stakeholders on business operations.
- General Legal Support:
- Maintain and organize legal documentation and records for compliance and reference purposes.
- Assist in any special projects, tasks, or assignments as delegated by the Head of Department (HOD) from time to time.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ working experience in company secretarial practice in a company secretarial/legal firm or public listed company environment.
- Good knowledge of Companies Act 2016 and Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
- Well versed with MBRS and MyCoID (CCM online platforms).
- Proficient in written English, good interpersonal, organisational, communication and time management skills.
- Proactive, team player with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines.
