The Legal Executive provides comprehensive legal support to safeguard the company’s interests across contracts, projects, and regulatory matters. The role involves drafting and reviewing agreements, managing legal documentation, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and providing advisory support to internal departments. The Legal Executive also supports litigation preparation, conducts compliance inspections at project sites, and drives internal legal awareness programs. By acting as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external counsel, the Legal Executive plays a key role in mitigating risks and ensuring operational integrity.
Responsibilities
- Lead the review, negotiation, and finalization of contracts, agreements, and legal documents to ensure the company’s rights and interests are fully protected.
- Develop and continuously refine contract templates and clauses to strengthen risk management, commercial clarity, and regulatory compliance.
- Act as the primary legal advisor to internal departments (HR, Finance, Operations, Business Development), providing practical, business-focused solutions to complex legal issues.
- Evaluate third-party correspondences, contracts, and proposals, offering authoritative recommendations to mitigate risk and support decision-making.
- Establish and oversee secure, efficient systems for legal documentation (digital and physical), ensuring confidentiality, compliance, and timely access.
- Proactively monitor contract and license expiries, driving timely renewals and reviews to avoid operational or legal lapses.
- Manage the collection, analysis, and preparation of evidence, correspondence, and documentation for litigation or dispute resolution.
- Coordinate with external counsel, ensuring that company positions are well represented and timelines are met with accuracy and consistency.
- Lead monthly compliance audits and inspections at project sites (facilities management, solar energy, construction) to ensure full regulatory and contractual adherence.
- Identify risks or non-compliance issues and drive corrective actions in collaboration with site teams and management.
- Design and deliver legal awareness programs and training sessions to strengthen compliance culture and risk awareness across the company.
- Provide timely briefings on legislative and regulatory developments, ensuring management and staff are updated on changes affecting company operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Hons.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience
- Strong knowledge of corporate and commercial law.
- Skilled in drafting and reviewing contracts and regulatory documentation.
- Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
- Good negotiation and advisory skills.
- Familiarity with litigation procedures and case preparation.
