Job summary

A well-known property development company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an In-house Legal Executive to handle various legal and compliance needs related to real estate activities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing legal documents, ensuring compliance with laws, and liaising with relevant authorities. This role offers a chance to contribute actively to property development projects and requires a Bachelor of Laws degree along with substantial legal experience in the property sector.

Qualifications

Company and Job Overview
A well known Property Developer company located in KL is looking for In house Legal Executive.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supporting the company's legal and compliance needs across various real estate activities, including investment, development, land acquisition and leasing.

  • Preparing and reviewing legal documents, conducting due diligence, liaising with authorities and ensuring compliance with relevant property and land related laws and regulations in Malaysia.

  • Drafting and vetting legal agreements such as Sale & Purchase Agreements, tenancy/ lease agreements and contractor contracts.

  • Conducting due diligence for land acquisitions, assisting with applications for land matters and supporting project development teams on compliance and statutory requirements.

  • Liaise with authorities for approvals and legal submissions, monitor changes in laws affecting real estate and provide legal updates to management.

  • Liaise with external solicitors on litigation matters.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws Degree from a recognized university

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant legal experience preferably in property development, real estate law, or legal firms handling conveyancing and land matters

  • Familiar with the processes of obtaining development approvals and dealing with state level land authorities

  • Proactive and organized individual who can work independently and as a part of a cross-functional team
