Job summary

BP is seeking an in-house legal technology specialist to design, configure and deploy innovative legal tech solutions. You will partner with Technology to deliver within BP's ecosystem, translating requirements into scalable processes using low-code/no-code platforms, document automation and AI-powered tools.

You will lead workshops, create playbooks, and monitor adoption while collaborating across legal and technology teams to deliver value, efficiency, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law or related field with interest in legal technology.
• 2–5 years in legal services, legal operations or technology support.
• Familiar with document automation, CLM, eDiscovery and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Technology to deliver into BP technology ecosystem.
• Design solutions with an engineering approach for the in-house legal team.
• Design, configure and deploy legal solutions on automation and AI platforms.
• Lead workshops for requirements capture and design validation.

Job description

In a constantly changing technology landscape, in-house legal functions find themselves at the cutting edge of innovation. This role supports the design, development, and delivery of innovative solutions to enhance legal service delivery, productivity and value creation. You will work closely with legal teams and legal operations teams to find opportunities and translate them into scalable solutions. You will design, configure solutions using legal technology platforms such as low code / no code platforms, document automation tools, workflow platforms, document management and matter management platforms, and AI / agentic systems. You will design, run and contribute to innovation projects, proof of concept builds, and data-driven process enhancements. You will lead and run analysis, design and support efforts to help teams successfully adopt technologies – planning and leading initiatives to ensure customer-focused delivery. You will bring a curiosity attitude to your work, tell stories to bring problems and solutions to life, and be a catalyst for change and a trusted partner to the business.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Technology colleagues to ensure successful delivery into the bp technology ecosystem
• Gather requirements and design solutions, bringing an engineering approach to understand and solve challenges facing the in-house legal team
• Work with internal teams to capture difficulties and translate them into new and innovative ways of working
• Design and run workshops to facilitate design and requirements capture
• Design, configure and deploy legal solutions onto platforms including document automation, workflow automation, document management, matter management, AI agentic low code / no-code platforms, and Legal AI productivity platforms and tools
• Find opportunities to streamline processes, solve novel problems and enhance tools and processes based on user feedback, industry advances and emerging guidelines
• Be the face of solutions to colleagues, support adoption and help design and deliver training to help embed them into ways of working
• Conduct reviews and assessments of new features, upgrades, and enhancements to ensure functionality meets colleagues' expectations and requirements
• Design, create and maintain documentation covering processes, playbooks, configurations, solving steps, and standard operating procedures
• Use data to monitor colleague adoption and success metrics

About you

• Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification in Law, Computer Science / Information Systems, LegalTech / Legal Innovation, Business, STEM, or related subject area with demonstrable interest and experience in legal technology, or equivalent demonstrable professional experience or vocational training in legal technology or operations
• 2-5 years experience in legal services, legal operations, technology support, working as a lawyer or professional services
• Familiarity with legal technology platforms and concepts including document automation, CLM, eDiscovery, legal AI tools, workflow platforms, demonstrating understanding of key concepts, implementation, design and rollout experience
• Familiarity with AI concepts, platforms and tools including ML, GenAI, Agentic
• Facilitation, requirements analysis and process / operational design skills
• Understanding of solution configuration, data handling, or low code/no code workflows
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize feature work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
• Ability to collaborate effectively across cross functional teams
