Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Based in the Worldline Offices in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia:

  • Assist APAC General Counsel and APAC Deputy General Counsel in advising and providing legal support to management, business, and other support units on the needs of the Worldline group of companies, including: corporate, enterprise, commercial, regulatory, employment and labor-related contracts/matters/issues; data privacy; dispute resolutions/litigation management; and legal compliance issues.
  • Focus on Greater China legal matters and contracting.
  • Engage in global day-to-day legal business such as negotiating, drafting, and reviewing commercial agreements and documentation.
  • Provide legal training and create awareness within the Worldline entities regarding policies.
  • Assist in digitizing the contracts archive and legal workflows, including contracts lifecycle management.

What are we looking for

  • 6-8 years PQE
  • Admission to practise law in Singapore, England, Malaysia, Hong Kong, or other Commonwealth jurisdictions.
  • Experience working on Greater China legal matters and contracting is a prerequisite.
  • Ability to read and write at business level in Mandarin; proficiency in other Asian languages is preferred.
  • Previous in-house technology (software, hardware, platforms, cloud, networks) experience, especially in payments, is highly desirable.
  • Good knowledge of contract law and data privacy.
  • Demonstrable experience in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Desired characteristics: proactive, responsive, team player, meticulous, hardworking, business-savvy, flexible, excellent communicator, with a good sense of humor. Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
