This global FMCG powerhouse is renowned for its legacy of innovation, market leadership, and premium product lines. As the industry continues to evolve and expand across emerging markets, a permanent Legal Counsel is needed to join the team in the Kuala Lumpur office.

Your new role

Here’s a 5-point summary of the responsibilities:

• Advise business functions on legal matters, ensuring compliance with legislation and providing risk assessments for complex regulations.
• Lead and manage litigation strategies, coordinate with external counsel, and keep management informed on case progress.
• Track regulatory and litigation developments, assess business impact, and anticipate potential legal risks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate business agreements, create contract templates, and support transactional activities.
• Provides counsel on anti-competition and data protection issues and supports legal compliance in business operations and planning.

What you'll need to succeed

• Holds a recognised law degree with over 5 years of experience in corporate and commercial law.
• Good business and commercial acumen, with the ability to bring authoritative advice and problem-solving skills, encourages trust and confidence.
• Strong in writing, drafting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in Competition Law or Litigation will be advantageous.
