Job Description
- Deliver expert legal advice on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters aligned with business strategy.
- Support the executive team by offering practical legal guidance, particularly within fintech, blockchain, and digital asset spheres.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements to protect the company's interests.
- Stay ahead of regulatory developments and ensure compliance with local and global financial regulations.
- Establish and refine legal policies, frameworks, and compliance programs to support business growth and risk mitigation.
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies and maintain strong, proactive relationships.
- Coordinate with external counsel to ensure consistent, high-quality legal representation and advice.
- Oversee legal due diligence for international partnerships, business deals, and M&A activity.
- Provide legal insight for global expansion initiatives and strategic collaborations.
- Guide the company on corporate governance, ethics, and internal controls.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings and regulatory engagements when necessary.
The Successful Applicant
- LLB and/or called to the bar with at least 5 years of legal experience in corporate or commercial law, whether in a top-tier law firm or as part of an in-house legal team - preferably handling high-value contracts, regulatory matters, and governance issues.
- Strong capability in structuring, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of complex agreements, including service contracts, NDAs, partnership agreements, licensing deals, and M&A-related documents.
- Exposure to the fintech, digital assets, or tech sectors is highly preferred, with a solid understanding of relevant legal frameworks such as AML/KYC, data protection regulations, and crypto compliance standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or support legal due diligence efforts for international business deals, acquisitions, or cross-border partnerships.
- Deep understanding of corporate governance, with experience advising on shareholder rights, board responsibilities, and the implementation of internal compliance policies.
