Your new company

Our client is a renowned FMCG company and are one of the market leaders in the industry. They are looking for someone to fill a new Legal and Compliance Manager role in their office in Klang.

Your new role

  • Establish, implement, and manage effective legal frameworks aligned with the company’s vision, while identifying and mitigating potential legal risks through proactive advice to management.
  • Review, draft, and vet all company agreements and legal documents to ensure compliance with legal standards and safeguard business interests. Maintain a structured and secure legal filing system for accessibility.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive compliance register, ensuring adherence to Malaysian and international standards, including Halal certification, ESG, BRC, HACCP, SQF, EMP, and GMP requirements.
  • Act as the company’s liaison with government agencies, local authorities, and trade associations**, while collaborating with external legal counsel on litigation, enforcement, and regulatory matters.
  • Lead compliance training programs, deliver clear guidance on policies and procedures, support customer enquiries regarding regulatory matters, and foster a corporate culture of integrity and ethical conduct.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Called to the bar and came from a reputable university.
  • Experienced in legal advisory, compliance management, stakeholder engagement, and interdepartmental collaboration, ensuring regulatory adherence and risk mitigation.
  • Proficient in drafting legal, corporate, and business documents with clarity, maintaining a professional tone, and effectively conveying complex information.
  • Skilled in conducting thorough legal research, interpreting complex regulations and policies, and providing strategic insights for decision-making.
