RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

The Legal & Compliance department is responsible for ensuring that the organization operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. It comprises three functions: legal, company secretary, and SOP compliance. You will play a key role in managing legal and compliance risks, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements across departments.

  1. Develop and update internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  2. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
  3. Maintain and implement related QMS activities to:
    1. Ensure the quality management system conforms to ISO 9001 requirements;
    2. Ensure processes deliver their intended outputs;
    3. Report on the performance of the quality management system and opportunities for improvement to top management;
    4. Promote customer focus throughout the organization;
    5. Maintain the integrity of the quality management system during changes.
  4. Preferably attend ISO 9001 Awareness & Internal Audit Courses. Experience in conducting or supporting internal audits for these standards is highly desirable.
  5. Have at least 2 years of experience in documenting processes and audits aligned with ISO 9001.
  6. Assist in resolving legal disputes and regulatory inquiries.
  7. Provide guidance and support to employees on legal and compliance requirements.
  8. Ensure statutory compliance, such as filing annual returns, financial statements, and other documents.
  9. Coordinate with external legal counsel, auditors, and regulatory bodies as needed.
  10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date corporate records and documentation.
  11. Prepare reports and presentations for management and regulatory bodies.
  12. Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases.
  13. Willing to travel to sites for ISO system audits.
  14. Perform any ad-hoc duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Major: Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Law, Corporate Administration/Secretarial, or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 2 years in implementing and monitoring QMS and ensuring ISO compliance.

Languages: Excellent written and verbal skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.

Skills: Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards, relevant laws and regulations, strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
