A leading law firm is looking for a dedicated Legal Clerk passionate about the legal field. You will assist lawyers with document preparation and filing, and contribute to keeping the organization of legal files. Are you an organized and detail-oriented individual with a passion for the legal field? Our Firm is seeking a dedicated Legal Clerk to join our team.
Job Description / Responsibilities:
- Assist lawyers with file preparation
- Manage and organize legal documents and case files
- Preparation of court documents (including printing, photocopying, binding and scanning)
- Assist lawyers with filing of court documents via e-filing system
- Manage and upkeep case files to ensure all documents and cause papers are properly filed and kept
- Track deadlines to ensure documents are filed in a timely manner
- Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling and correspondence
- Attend to phone calls and emails, and when necessary, redirect calls and emails to lawyer in charge
- Liaise with clients, courts, opposing counsels and other external parties under lawyers' instructions
- Perform any ad-hoc task as and when required
Qualifications & Requirements:
- SPM or Diploma (or equivalent experience)
- Can write and converse in English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Must be computer literate (especially in using Microsoft Office)
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Able to work independently and follow instructions
- Prior experience in a legal setting is a plus but not required
