• At least 2 years of working experience in a construction company or law firm.
• Experienced in CIPAA adjudication, arbitration, and construction litigation.
• Proficient in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia.

Job description

a) Assist the Head of Legal & Contract in: -

- Construction law & contractsmanagement: prepare, draft and/or vet all legal documents, contracts and letters, including but not limited to, letters of intent, letters of award, construction contracts, material supply agreements, settlement agreements, contra agreements, sale & purchase agreements, tenancy agreements, etc.

- Assessing risks impact on legal cases, contracts and internal policies, to ensure compliances with all contractual and legal requirements.

- Participate in negotiation meetings with employers, contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers, and/or consultants.

- Assess, monitor, review and mitigate contractual risks during tender and contract administration stages from legal perspectives.

- Liaise with external lawyers, counsels, experts and regulatory bodies in any legal matters.

- Provide legal support and co-operate with other departments including responding to ad hoc legal or contractual queries.

c) Have knowledge or experienced in PAM, FIDIC and/or PWD contracts.

d) Any other tasks as required by the Head of Legal & Contract.

Job Requirements:

a) Candidate must possess at least a LLB or equivalent.

b) At least 2 years of working experience at in-house legal department within a construction company, or a law firm which practises construction law.

c) Experienced in CIPAA adjudication, arbitration and/or construction litigation.

d) Required languages:English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

e) Willing to travel to project sites occasionally, as required.
