Job Description

• 
  
  Provide legal guidance across areas such as contracts, corporate governance, employment law, IP, and regulatory matters. Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents. Manage legal disputes and coordinate with external counsel.

  Develop and maintain internal compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with applicable laws and industry standards. Conduct routine audits and risk assessments to ensure operational integrity.
• 
  
  Track legal and regulatory updates to ensure policies remain current. Prepare compliance reports and updates for senior leadership and the board. Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, investigations, and audits.
• 
  
  Identify and assess legal and compliance risks related to business operations. Advise on risk mitigation strategies and support the implementation of risk controls.
• 
  
  Serve as the main contact for regulators and government agencies, ensuring timely and accurate submissions of required reports and documentation.
• 
  
  Promote a strong culture of ethics, accountability, and transparency. Address employee concerns regarding compliance and ethical conduct.

  Design and deliver training programs to build awareness of legal obligations and compliance requirements across all levels of the organization.

The Successful Applicant

• 
  
  A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from an accredited institution, with admission to the Malaysian Bar.
• 
  
  At least 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in legal and compliance functions, preferably with regional exposure in the APAC or Southeast Asia regions.
• 
  
  Solid knowledge and practical understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and compliance standards.
• 
  
  Strong proficiency in written and spoken English. Proficiency in Mandarin language will be viewed as an added advantage.
• 
  
  Open to regional travel across APAC/SEA as required by the role.
• 
  
  Proven leadership experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity is highly desirable.
