Job Description
Review, draft, and vet contracts and legal documents to ensure compliance and protect company interests.
Identify and mitigate legal risks, providing timely advice to management.
Offer legal opinions and solutions to support informed decision-making.
Conduct legal research on industry developments and regulatory changes.
Oversee litigation and dispute resolution, working with external counsel for favorable outcomes.
Maintain a secure legal filing system for efficient document retrieval.
Serve as the company's liaison with government agencies, local authorities, and trade associations to ensure compliance and foster positive relationships.
Develop and manage a regulatory compliance register, ensuring adherence to local and international standards.
Conduct risk assessments and advise on facility registration, product compliance, and marketing claims.
Prepare reports on compliance incidents, investigations, and regulatory updates, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
Oversee certifications and industry standards, representing the company in relevant committees.
Maintain an updated regulatory document library to enhance compliance capabilities.
Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, ensuring well-managed compliance strategies and submissions.
Develop and deliver compliance training to promote integrity and ethical conduct.
Support cross-functional teams in implementing and maintaining compliance policies and procedures.
Address customer inquiries on regulatory and compliance matters.
The Successful Applicant
LLB (Hons) from a recognized law school, qualified as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court in Malaya.
5 years & above, post qualification experience (PQE).
Experience in legal and compliance roles, with strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Strong legal writing skills, adaptable to legal, corporate, and business contexts.
Proficient in legal research methodologies and analysis.
Ability to simplify and present complex legal and regulatory information to diverse audiences.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex topics clearly.
Strong analytical skills, particularly in interpreting regulations and policies.
Proven problem-solving ability, including root cause analysis, risk assessment, and corrective actions.
Effective organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
Upholds high ethical standards and demonstrates strong integrity.
