As a Legal Advisor (Sales Department), you are responsible for generating new sales, delivering advice, and maintaining relationships with clients. An in-depth understanding of IP protection and frameworks is expected in Malaysia and other jurisdictions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on various IP matters relevant to their business, e.g., trademarks, patents, industrial designs, copyrights, etc.
  • Provide legal advice on office actions, oppositions, objections, hearings, etc., related to IP registration.
  • Follow up consistently with clients and respond promptly to inquiries.
  • Maintain relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Ensure timely and efficient handling of all tasks and assignments.
  • Coordinate cases, monitor file statuses, meet deadlines, and communicate updates effectively with clients.
  • Assist in business development activities, including seminars and article production.
  • Contribute to business planning and marketing strategies when required.
  • Achieve personal and departmental KPIs.
  • Report to the Head of Department and Management team.
  • Assist the CEO and other department heads in client handling.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role preferred.
  • Diploma or equivalent in Law, Finance, Accounting, Banking, Business Studies, Administration, Management, or Marketing.
  • At least 1 year of experience in sales and marketing.
  • Own transportation and willingness to travel, including outstation travel on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Active listening and ability to tailor approaches to client needs.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts using judgment and guidelines.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing customer and business needs.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English, both spoken and written.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
