A leading company specializing in property development is seeking a Legal Adviser to provide expert legal guidance on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters. The role involves drafting and negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and representing the company in legal proceedings. Ideal candidates will hold a law degree, possess strong analytical skills, and have at least 3 years of relevant experience, particularly within the property or real estate sector.
Provide expert legal advice to the Board of Directors and Department Heads on all corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, joint ventures, leases, and procurement terms.
Ensure the company complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and licensing requirements for all operations in the organization.
Lead the legal risk assessment process and develop strategies to mitigate potential liabilities.
Represent the company in legal proceedings and manage relationships with external legal counsel.
Advise on matters of corporate governance, including shareholder issues, board resolutions, and statutory filings.
Monitor legislative and regulatory changes that may affect the company’s operations and provide timely recommendations.
Develop and implement internal legal policies, processes, and training programs to enhance legal awareness and compliance culture.
Maintain accurate legal documentation and ensure proper record-keeping practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B or equivalent); Master’s Degree or professional legal certifications (e.g., CLP, Bar) is an added advantage.
Drafting / Reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts/ Respond to legal queries and conduct research on legal queries.
Strong understanding of corporate law, commercial contracts, property law, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
Proven ability to handle complex legal matters independently and with sound judgment.
Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in corporate or commercial legal practice, senior advisory or in-house counsel role.
Experience in the property development, construction, or real estate industry is highly preferred.
